Programs

Folkstyle, four nights a week

One program, two practice blocks. Elementary wrestlers train first, junior high and high school after. Every wrestler trains with the group and progresses at their own pace.

Monday – Thursday

Elementary

5:30 – 6:30 PM
Grades K–5

Where wrestlers learn the sport. Stance, motion, and position come first, then real technique on the feet and on the mat. No experience needed and no tryout — beginners start here and train alongside kids who have been competing for years.

Training focus

  • Stance, motion, and level change
  • First takedowns and finishes
  • Escapes, reversals, and riding
  • Live wrestling in a controlled setting
  • Learning to compete and lose well
Monday – Thursday

Junior High & High School

7:00 – 8:45 PM
Grades 6–12

A full competitive room. Longer practices, harder live wrestling, and technique built for the folkstyle season. Wrestlers preparing for UIL, state tournaments, and college recruiting train in this block, and so do wrestlers stepping onto a mat for the first time.

Training focus

  • Neutral offense and hand fighting
  • Top control, riding, and turns
  • Bottom wrestling and escapes
  • Scrambling and mat awareness
  • Conditioning and competition readiness
  • Recruiting guidance for upperclassmen

How wrestlers progress

You don't pick a level — the coaching staff tracks where each wrestler is and moves them forward as they earn it. Everyone trains in the same room regardless of where they sit on this path.
